I don't enter many competitions these days but the SWPP holds many fond memories for me, so when I get chance I like to throw a few images in and see what happens.
The August winners have just been announced and I am pleased to say I was awarded 2 Golds !!!
One in Portrait Avant Garde ----- A shot of an abandoned car in a prison cell taken while on assignment in Philadelphia ------ The weird psycho is me taken back in my studio in the UK and composited in later.
The second Gold Award in Open Avant Garde. This time taken in a slightly less exotic location while on assignment in Newcastle Upon Tyne (sorry Newcastle). An extremely simple shot (for me as i tend to over complicate images) ------ I just liked the graphic content and juxtaposition.
Lastly I was also lucky enough to be awarded a Highly Commended (one down from a Gold) for the following image in the Landscape Section. Taken in NYC while (again) on assignment ----- YES I get to travel a lot, much to the annoyance on my long suffering wife ---- o well ;)
