Hanging Hill ....... Shot on a foggy day in Derbyshire (the man was added post production)

Hanging Hill .... yet another composite! ....... very popular at the moment.
Woman in “red” coat added later ..... red obviously signifying “danger”.
The woodland scene however was shot .... believe it or not on the same day as the first cover in this series
..... which is just plain weird !
As you have probably guessed the designers couldn’t decide which cover to choose !

The Treatment is an image shot in a derelict Lunatic Asylum in wales many years ago.
Sorry i only have a very low res version of this book.

A German cover here with the title “The Set of Fly” ....... again from google translate ..... somehow doesn’t sound right?
Anyway, the cover.
A simple still life shot in the studio. An old book bought on a car boot (as it had cool gold edged pages and looked like a bible). A set of Rosary beads bought while on location in Malta and some of my own recipe blood (sticky but tastes lovely !

The literal translation of this (thanks to Google Translate) is No Redemption As ...... Which I would assume should just be No redemption?
Anyway about the image. A composite where the obligatory little girl in “another” red dress has been added later.
The old wooden shutters were photographed in a derelict mental asylum in Wales..... very spooky place !

Another Italian cover here “il libro della vita e della morte” ....... my book covers seem to do really well in Italy for some reason .... because I like Pasta maybe?
Anyway I digress ........... I really can’t believe how many times this one doorway can sell !!!
It is BY FAR my best selling image ..... ever !
It has even overtaken an image that has been used many, many times for the author Tess Gerritsen .... which is saying something !!!

Lightroom Training Day .... What the pro's thought !
12/01/12 12:26 Filed in: Training
The Adobe Lightroom Training day over at photouk on Monday was an amazing success!!
Not only were we sold out .... but Simon also put on a fantastic buffet in his superb new studios (chippy chips were a total bonus).
Here is what some of the pros had to say:
Azeem (Memorable Portraits)
“I certainly learnt a lot and it was delivered really well. It enforced a lot of things I do and also reminded me of things that I should be doing but have become lazy and hidden them from view.
I will certainly be using the techniques you have described in the next upcoming weeks.”
Johnathan & Chris Coleman (Cavendish Studios)
Very useful course - Reassured us that we have identified the best way to use Lightroom. Amplified areas we little understood. We will also benefit from several procedures that will speed up processing & save on wages !!!!!
Ray Fitchett (Sigma Imaging)
A really useful training session from Dave (nothing new there then!) ...... simple to understandable structure. Thanks Dave & Simon
Scott Orr
Very enjoyable day with spot on tuition delivered in a user friendly way. Really easy to follow ....fab course !
Simon Herrema
Clean, concise and easy to absorb. Enjoyed the input & found the info really useful!
Julie (photouk)
This course was well worth it. Well prepared presentation which was informative and enjoyable.
